Ma'a is presently working on a sustainable system for our island collaborating with other leaders in the ecological movement. "Focusing on "FEW" essentials to assist the masses." Food, Energy and Water, system on the central isthmus area, that will sustain vitality and economic viability through ecological agricultural development of plants and animals, alternative wind and solar energy and water management, that would be built and maintained by the islands construction industry. Owned by the community with each citizen having the opportunity to own an equitable stake in this system. Within this system there will be a processing plant to value add products for export to produce a economic exchange or currency on island in building our economy, along with a soil institute to act as a educational center.

Hawaii Farmers Union Ma'a is now a member of the Hawaii Farmers Union whose mission is to advance the rights of farmers to create vibrant and prosperous agricultural communities for the benefit of all through cooperation, legislation and education. We encourage all who support our efforts to become a member of this 105 year old national organization that now has Hawaii as a budding chapter. Through the solidarity of our farmers/ranchers and fishers we will restore the vitality of our lands and oceans to create food sovereignty. |

Along with the main conference area, there is an organic food tent, supplying “ono grinds” throughout the day. Attendees have many opportunities to network with one another while feasting on nutrient dense local organic foods.
It is the intention of Ma’a to hold these experiential events and bring together folks who value what it means to grow and eat nutrient dense foods, while fostering biological diversity in their gardens and farms.
